The Friends of York Hospitals

Welcome to the Friends of York Hospitals, a charity founded in 1953 to support the care of patients in York Hospital.

Our two main roles are:

Hospital volunteers
Hospital volunteers help to improve the quality of life of patients in hospital.  We support York Hospital and two small rehabilitation hospitals for elderly patients, Nelsons Court and White Cross Court.

Fundraising
We fundraise to buy specialist equipment and projects to increase the facilities and care for patients and their families.

We work closely with the York & Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.  This involves the Volunteer Services Staff who support our volunteer recrutiment as well as the Trust Charity which helps us to identify suitable projects.

York NHS staff should email contact.us@foyh.org.uk  to request a funding  application form.

We could not carry out our work without the generosity of local people giving donations and practical help.
